GutApp × LOAM Data-Sharing Notice

This notice supplements the GutApp Privacy Policy. It applies only to users who received a free GutApp trial through our partnership with LOAM, and it explains the optional data sharing we may carry out with your consent. Nothing in this notice affects your free trial, your subscription, or any GutApp feature.

1 · Who is responsible for your data

GUT APP LTD remains the data controller for everything you log in GutApp. If you consent to sharing, LOAM receives the shared dataset described below and is independently responsible for its use of that data under its own privacy policy.

2 · What we share — only with your consent

If, and only if, you opt in on the in-app consent screen, we may share the following with LOAM:

• Daily fibre totals calculated from your food log (total, soluble and insoluble fibre, in grams);
• A breakdown of that fibre by fermentability (rapidly, moderately and slowly fermentable);
• The baseline fibre intake you reported during onboarding and your daily fibre goal;
• The dates the entries relate to, and the version of the consent terms you accepted.

The data is shared under a random reference code generated for this purpose. We never share your name, email address or any other identifier, and we never share anything else you log in GutApp — no meals, ingredients, photos, symptoms, stool logs or health details.

Status: no data has been shared with LOAM to date. Your consent choice is recorded so that, if sharing begins, only users who opted in are ever included.

3 · Why (purpose)

LOAM uses this data to understand how fibre intake relates to gut health among people using its products, and to evaluate the partnership.

4 · Legal basis

Your explicit consent (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and, to the extent the data is health data, Article 9(2)(a)). Declining consent has no effect on your trial, subscription or any GutApp feature.

5 · Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw (or grant) consent at any time in the app under Profile → LOAM Data Sharing, or by emailing support@gutapp.app. After withdrawal, your data is excluded from all future sharing. Withdrawal does not affect data already shared, but you can ask us to request deletion of previously shared data from LOAM.

6 · Retention

We keep a record of your consent decisions (including withdrawals) for as long as you have an account, and as described in the main policy after that, so we can demonstrate what you agreed to. If sharing begins, LOAM's retention of shared data will be governed by our data-sharing agreement with LOAM and reflected in an update to this notice.

7 · Your rights

As set out in the main privacy policy, you can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your data, and you may complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk). For any data held by LOAM, you can also exercise these rights directly with LOAM.
